About Us

Firstly - a warm welcome!

IMG 20210728 204230

We’re a welcoming, accessible Christian church for the whole community of Cambourne. Whoever you are and wherever you’re from, you’re warmly invited to find a home here—whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have worshipped for years.

You’ll find step-free access, accessible facilities, and friendly faces ready to help. We have a T-loop (hearing loop) for hearing-aid users, and there’s space for buggies, wheelchairs and walking aids. We also run dedicated groups for crèche, children and youth, so young people can belong, have fun and grow in faith.

Our services

We offer two Sunday services so you can choose what suits you best:

  • Early morning service – Quieter and more reflective, with no children’s groups running.
  • Later morning family service – All-age worship with our crèche, children’s and youth groups available.
You can read more here about Our Services.

We also run special services throughout the year.

After each service, you’re warmly invited to stay for tea, coffee and biscuits (do hurry as the kids tend to rush for the biscuits!). It’s a great way to say hello and meet others. Through the week, our on-site Coffee House serves friendly, affordable drinks and cakes; it’s a lovely place to catch up with friends or take a quiet moment.

What we value

  • Following Jesus together – Growing in faith through Scripture, prayer and everyday life.
  • Serving our community – Offering practical care, hospitality and support across Cambourne.
  • Belonging for everyone – Creating a safe, inclusive church where people of all ages and backgrounds can flourish.

In the community

We want Cambourne to thrive. Alongside Sunday worship, we serve our community throughout the week—offering practical help, care and places to belong. Here are a few ways we’re involved:

Foodbank – Emergency food and support for anyone facing a crisis. If you need help—or want to donate or volunteer—start here.

Parish Nursing – Parish nursing is all about supporting people and communities towards whole-person healthcare. Parish nurses work with people of all ages and backgrounds, those with any faith or none. Find out more or make a referral.

Social Groups – Friendly, low-cost groups and activities where you can meet people and feel at home—crafts, conversation and more. Browse what’s on.

The Harbour (Bereavement Support) – An informal, monthly drop-in for adults to meet, share experiences, and chat with others who are also walking the bereavement journey. Details and dates.

Jubilee Garden – Cambourne Silver Jubilee Garden is a community project to celebrate 25 years of Cambourne by transforming the land around the church into a place of welcome, beauty, produce, and wildlife. Read the story and get involved.

We’re a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP)
Cambourne Church is an LEP, meaning we’re supported by Anglican, Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Church partners—each of whom provides a representative to encourage and advise us, giving us access to wider experience and resources. Our congregation itself is wonderfully diverse: people from many Christian traditions, non-denominational backgrounds, and those simply exploring faith. Whoever you are, you’re welcome here as part of one church serving Cambourne together.

That's Cambourne Church in a nutshell, so to speak! Please feel free to browse around the website, and if you have any questions or would like to talk to someone, please get in touch.

New to Church?

00 Welcome

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

When & where does the church meet?

Sunday One will be on the first Sunday of the month. It is a 10.00am service for all ages with Communion.

On the other Sundays of the month there will be 9.30am and 11.00am services, as usual, with groups for children and young people at the 11.00am service.
Communion will be celebrated on at least one of these Sundays, as publicised.

Any changes to this will be shared on our Facebook page or shown on the calendar here.

The 9.30 service is more traditional in style with the music mainly consisting of hymns played on a keyboard.
The 11am service is more contemporary in style with the music being lead by a worship team. Most of the songs are more modern than those played at the 9.30 service.

We meet at:
Cambourne Church
Jeavons Lane
Cambourne
Cambs

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available to the rear of the church building. The postcode of the car park is CB23 6DZ.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be some singing to start with as well as some prayers and a reading from the bible. There will be a talk (some reflections) from one of the leaders of the church, with a chance to discuss it further at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What is there for children and young people at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children and young people at the Church. Children and young people stay with their families at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children and young people need to go to their programme. We have young church for those from Yr R - Yr 6 and a youth group for our young people in years 7-13. There is a creche in the church foyer for younger children.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
