Audio Help

Listen Again to any of the recordings on this site by clicking on [MP3]. The talk will start playing soon after you click on the link. If you don't hear anything, check that the sound is not muted on your computer, and that the volume control is turned up. You don't need to wait for the whole audio file to be downloaded before you can start listening. However you need to be connected to the internet for the entire time you are listening.

The alternative is to download the audio file and save it on your computer (which will take a minute or so on a broadband connection, but up to 15 minutes if you are using a slow phone connection.). Don't forget you must right-click on the [download] tag and and select a place on your computer to save the file. You can then play it any time you want, even if you are not connected to the internet.

Podcasting

Podcasting is a very convenient way to automatically download new talks as they are produced. To do this you need to be running a "media agregator". Apple iTunes is the most popular one, and it's free. It will manage and play your entire audio collection, but the important aspect here is that it permits you to subscribe to podcasts. The easiest way to do this is to click the link above. This will take you to our podcast in the iTunes store (if you don't yet have iTunes it will prompt you to download it), where you just click on the "subscribe" button.  Once you have subscribed to the podcast, any new talks will automatically be downloaded into iTunes whenever you are connected to the internet. And once there, you can synchronize them to your iPod or other MP3 player, so you can listen to them whereever you want.  The podcasts are free, but you do have to sign up to iTunes to use this route.

Alternatively you can type the URL:http://cc.the-binghams.org.uk/rss2.php into whatever other media agregator you are using. If you don't yet have one and don't want to use iTunes, Juice works well on all platforms and is free!

Powerpoint

Occasionally a talk will be illustrated with Powerpoint slides. You can view these by clicking on the associated [Powerpoint] tag. If you don't have Microsoft Office you will need to download the free Powerpoint viewer from here.

Notes

When there are notes available to go with the talk you can view these by clicking on the associated [Notes] for text files or [PDF] for Adobe Acrobat PDF files.

If you do not have Adobe Reader, click on the "Get Adobe Reader" button to get the free program. Get Adobe Reader

Bible Passages

Where a talk has a Bible passage listed, you can view the passage in an online Bible by clicking on the reference. The default translation is the NIV, but you can select other versions or languages and even get the chapter read to you (in rather a strange mid-atlantic accent I'm afraid). Just click on the little loudspeaker symbol in the navigation bar.
