Youth

XtremeYoung people worshipping in church, they have their backs to the camera and have a screen in front of them displaying song words on a coloured background

Our Sunday morning group for those in school years 7-13 meets during the 11am service most weeks (we stay in the Sunday One service on the first Sunday of the month). We gather at the church centre for the first part of the service and then head to Cambourne Soul (the youth centre) where we explore the Bible in a fun and engaging way.

Thirst

This is a monthly youth service which takes place on the second Sunday of each month in the church Annexe from 6.00-8.30pm. It is run by WCCYM for young people from all churches in West Cambridge and consists of a meal, worship, an invited speaker and time for discussion and reflection.

Youth Socials

These are held regularly. They usually involve playing games, having some snacks and getting to know each other better. The socials run from 4.00-6.00pm.

Wellbeing Café

Run in partnership with Romsey Mill, the Wellbeing Café is open on Fridays in term-time in the church annexe from 3.15-4.15 for all secondary aged children.

Schools

There are various Christian lunchtime groups run at both of our local secondary schools, these are lead by staff and volunteers from WCCYM (West of Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries):

Cambourne Village College:
Christian Union meets on Monday in Pink 3.

Comberton Village College:
Christian Union meets on Fridays in RPE 3.

Comberton Sixth Form:
Christian Union – a Christian discussion group held every Monday lunchtime in Six 2.
Mocha The Week – a space to chat to youth workers and have a hot chocolate every Friday lunchtime outside Six 1.

New to Church?

00 Welcome

Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.

When & where does the church meet?

We hold two services in the Cambourne Church Centre on Sunday mornings, at 9.30am and at 11am. Any changes to this will be shared on our Facebook page or shown on the calendar here.

The 9.30 service is more traditional in style with the music mainly consisting of hymns played on a keyboard.
The 11am service is more contemporary in style with the music being lead by a worship team. Most of the songs are more modern than those played at the 9.30 service.

We meet at:
Cambourne Church
Jeavons Lane
Cambourne
Cambs
CB23 6AF

You can see a map on our contact us page

There is limited parking available to the rear of the church building. The postcode of the car park is CB23 6DZ.

What should I expect when I visit the church?

You will receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go. There will be some singing to start with as well as some prayers and a reading from the bible. There will be a talk (some reflections) from one of the leaders of the church, with a chance to discuss it further at the end of the service.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after the service where there is plenty of time to meet new people and ask more questions.

What is there for children and young people at church?

We have a fantastic programme for the children and young people at the Church. Children and young people stay with their families at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs!) together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children and young people need to go to their programme. We have young church for those from Yr R - Yr 6 and a youth group called Xtreme for our young people in years 7-13. There is a creche in the church foyer for younger children.

Is there a dress code?

No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.

Will I have to join in?

Not at all!
You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
